While I was gone - February update

- Fiancée set up our hammock..this is pretty much 90% of the reason I have been neglecting my poor little blog, i spent nearly every night swaying in my fiancée's arms, feeling the amazing night breezes dance through my hair under the moonlight, with not a care in the world.

- There was a huge fire in Roleystone - 6th February - my fiancée and I jumped on the roof that night and you could see half the hill was glowing. Creepy just doesn't touch it. So thankful that there were no lives lost and that things didn't get as bad as they could have. For any of you Australian readers, Roleystone is very much like Marysville - the community worst hit in the Black Saturday fires. Literally 3 days before it happened I was up there and said to one of my close friends " I love Roleystone, the only thing that scares me a bit is that it's so much like Marysville, if they had a big fire up here, it could get really bad".

Jumped on my roof and watched the sunset countless times.
This is one of my favourite things in the world to do and I've been doing it since I was a little kid. ( yep, I was that hippy earth child that was always climbing up trees, living in a world of their own, rescuing dragonflies from our patio and from our pool. I even had a pet stick which I called "petstickandI". PetstickandI had some awesome adventures, but his favourite thing was helping me toast marshmallows. Champion. )

Not worn much makeup.
Not a huge thing for a lot of people, but as a blondie, ever since I can remember I've had pale eyelashes, which means as soon as I made the discovery of a magical thing called mascara at 14, I tried never to go a day without the stuff. Now they're tinted, and I'm a happy little munchkin who can get back to being that hippy child I always was, free and au naturel.

Swum to the point that would make people wonder if I thought I would grow gills.

Got a teeny tiny potbelly while my fiancee was away, then lost it in like 2 days of him being home. Another reason why I didn't do any outfit posts ! I blame Connoisseur Cookies and Cream completely.

Caught up with loads of people who I really should have caught up with before Christmas.

Hung out with bestie Sam, started looking for bridesmaid dresses! yayyy!

Had loads of sleepovers with friends while baby was away, which meant lots of Greys, lots of How I met your Mother and lots of Modern Family :D

Met with the Wedding Photographers! eeep! very excited to have such amazing talented and laid back guys covering our big day.

Discovered Little Caesars Pizza.
The fact that no1 had told me just how delicious the pizza from this place was leads me to think that they were afraid if everyone knew, they'd never be able to get a seat there. Caramello Sam pizza was like eating a creme caramel - Caramel, Brown Sugar, macadamias and almonds, icing sugar and custard. In. sane . I may just turn morbidly obese because this place exists. Next time - it's this - Birds of Tokyo teriyaki chicken, yay! Also loving this Birds of Tokyo song, thought I'd share :D

god super late, gtg love u all !

nakie dress!

I think most girls in Perth could fess up to owning one of these dresses.. The weather here has been incredibly humid, the aircon systems aren't doing much to take the edge off... this is where the nakie dress comes out...defn usually from Bali- the tropical paradise playground for Perth peeps (also hot and humid), the dress is so thin you have to be careful you don't rip it pulling it out of the washing machine, and so free flowing that it just kind of floats around you, making you feel like you're wearing nothing at all.. and there you have, the nakie dress - a whole new level of comfy. The other night it was soo nice and balmy I went for a swim in mine,.... total.. bliss. If this summer never ended I'd be the happiest girl in the world.

Although, truth be told, i kinda am the happiest girl in the world right now, with good reason! ..

i have news readers - I'm getting married in October - eeeppp! During my latest trip to Seattle I went for a bridal fitting at Luly Yang couture to kinda get some ideas, and the fourth dress I tried on, I walked out and my parents just gasped breathlessly " oh. my . god." I'd found it ! From there everything else has just been falling perfectly into place ( so far :-p)

So I'll be casually blogging stuff as I figure it out, pictures of where it'll be held, invitations, bridesmaid dresses, things like that, but I won't be able to show you the dress just yet - fiance likes to read my blog ; ) Nice try darling !

In any case, You should definitely check out Luly Yang's collection and works of art, my God this woman has an incredible amount of talent, and an incredible story too, she studied architecture originally and then decided what she really wanted to do was construct for people, the rest is history as they say.

Anyway i'll post again soon, kinda anjoying getting back into the swing of it, hope you're all having an awesome time, and if it's summer in your part of the world, here's wishing you nakie dress good times, wherever you are in the world,

All my love, Lily

Sorry guys, I'll havta load the pics up tomorrow, apparently 12 mpxl shots take up a bit of space XD

I googled " bali dress" and found this - this girls all over it :) mine's not that pretty looking, but u get the idea

Happy Australia Day

I love being an Australian.. I love walking down the white beaches watching the sunset over the water, with thongs and beer in hand, I love that we're such a young country with so many different people from all over the globe, just happily living by the "live and let live" philosophy. But more than all that, I love that when things take a turn for the worst, whatever it may be, there is always a place in our hearts for others, We saw it during the tsunami, where Australia alone - just normal people living in their normal little neighbourhoods, gave us much as they could to the people of Thailand and Sri Lanka and Indonesia to help them rebuild. Within 5 days of the Tsunami, the red cross had received $14 million dollars, and other organisations such as world vision saw donations of 6.3 million.

Recently we saw Queensland, our north-easternmost state devastated by flash flooding, the footage is ridiculous, look up http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kYUpkPTcqPY
to give you an idea of how badly things turned so quickly..

So when the rest of Australia saw all this happening, our mateship culture rose again, and people from everywhere, are donating clothes, electricals, wood, food, money, everything that these communities need to rebuild. Defence force people are working around the clock, people from unaffected towns have jumped in to help anyway they can, people are banding together, helping each other through, offering support to those whose friends or families were washed away. People who have never even met before are crying on each others shoulders, sharing a beer together, commiserating.

That Right there, is what makes us Australian. And why I am proud, not only on Australia Day, but everyday, to call myself an aussie.

Hope you all had an amazing fantastic Australia day :)

the land of much deliciousness, in the city of prettiness

Man, i have got to get wayyyyy better at posting.. this is probably going to become a life blog for a little while, it jus seems to be goin that way..plus i was super at packing, so b4 i go shopping it's just going to look like the same pieces mixed in many many ways !

So I left all my friends on Monday night for a month. Heartbroken is not the word, so sad, i have so many awesome peope around me I feel very blessed.. then I've spent something ridiculous like 20 hours in planes.. had 5 hour stopovers along the way.. and bang! Here I am, finally, in Seattle..

Seattle is seriously pretty. Seattle's like the pretty girl in class who is seriously awesome but doesn't really talk much and so people don't really know much about her. At the moment it's well and truly winter, so the pines are dotted amongst deciduous trees which have all lost their leaves, it looks.. well it looks exactly how you imagine america in winter, like something from a movie or postcard. My dad's house is on a lake here, so every monring I get to wake up to this

that's been pretty neat.. a few weeks back there was a little family of otters sliding around on their tummies on the dock, it was the cutest picture, i'll ask if i can post it for u all :)

Also, I took a photo of peppermint bark for Sam from thatswhatsam-said.blogpot.com to have a look at, i hope i described it well!
I have been eating so much here it's ridiculous, they have such different food, yesterday i had a maple syrup donut.. so amazing it didnt even get enough time in the world for me to take a photo, there's pop tarts for $2.49, which jst seems ridiculous cos in Australia we pay like 8 dollars or more, might even be 10 i cant recall.. oh and AUSSIE WINE - is actually cheaper here, and yellow tail has wayy bigger range, work that out. Going to Costco tomorrow, it could get crazy, im jst excitd about costco pizza slices, they were so yum last time!
Shopping here is crazy too, i was flipping thru a big 5 catalogue ( like our Jim Kidd for sports store) and nike's are normally $60. This trip is going to pay for itself in no time.

Another discovery of deliciousness, Passionfruit Malibu. OH . My. GOSH. Sam i hope u read this, ALL of my duty free allowance is going on this stuff, it is so delicious! screw Alize! yep yep yep, that's just how awesome it is =D

The day before I left I did a shoot for the amazing, amazingly talented Olivia from Olive farm.. totally worth looking her up on etsy, her stuff is sooo pretty
Anyway, here's one of the photos from the shoot

also needing a huge mention is Mashita from Meisha make up artistry, she was sooo gorgeous and did such an AmaZing job! her page is http://www.facebook.com/#!/meisha.makeupartistry

Just quickly
this was the night i left so the picture quality was shot to high hell, oops! anyway, you'll see more soon :)

so im ridiculously tired! and it's something like 2 maybe 3 am here .. damn !
hope you're all eating lots of yummy foods, doing lots of amazing things and feeling fantastic, wherever u are in the world !
