Sunny winter afternoons

Hey gorgeous readers! Hope you're feeling fantastic, wherever you are in the world! Sorry i've been so absent lately ! Thank you Kim so much for your support through the entire semester.. you seriously have no idea how big a difference you made, and how much it lifted my spirits when you posted that gaga link, i loved it !

So the weather here has been hilariously cold!! I say hilariously because that's all I can do, laugh about it. I think I've said it before, but you can think of Perth as having Californian weather. Right now though, we're being hit with tiny minimum temperatures like 3 and 5, and even colder in some spots. I'm so grateful to be in my new toasty warm house this winter especially!

There's still hardly ever clouds at the moment, which means that the nights are.. hmm, how shall I say - O.M.G. Are- you - absolutely - positive - we're - still- in -Perth- not- Antarctica?- cold. But it does mean during the day we get the beautiful winter sun beaming in and warming up the whole house. my fiance calls these fine winter days "hammock weather" ..perfect! Today the sun seemed to be generous with sharing it's warmth, so I made the most of it and outfit photo'd outside!

Sorry this is short, I'm super tired and was only staying up to watch the World Cup!! devastated, Brazil's been knocked out !

It's not the end :D

So uni study is nearrrly finished, thank God! Exam's on tuesday and I'm slowly getting there. Kim, you are amazing, I loved the librarian lady gaga rendition- fan. tastic.

This is the time of semester where I really need to call on my resources to get through, that last few weeks where you feel like you're running on empty. There's a quote which I read once " Everything will be okay in the end. If it's not, it's not the end." Well, hopefully this is true for my situation. I just keep thinking about how when this is all over, I'll get to go to Phuket, and do nothing for a whole week except rest, swim and get massages.


This is Paradise Beach in Phuket, not many people know it exists, but that's what has kept it so special- I have a photo climbing that exact palm tree, I'll add it to this post when I get back from uni!




Sorry I haven't been the best with oufit posting. To be perfectly honest, I've not been fit for public consumption with studying, spending most of the time at home in my sleepy tee and soft home socks ( Real attractive stuff;) ) I'm hoping once I've finished this exam I'll have more free time! Anyway, here's just a glimpse at some of the stuff I HAVE been wearing!

The house is still pretty much exactly as it was when we moved in, the living area and the theater are painted, but none of the other rooms have been done yet, and all the furniture is at was when it got there, I can literally sit on my couch and eat at the dining table.. something I've always wanted to do, but not exactly this way.. cest la vie, I figure I'm not going to get better exam marks for an organised house, so it can wait :) So I promis, I haven't forgotten about sharing the house with you all.. it's just not ready!

Down South Getaway

Hello lovely readers! Hope you're all having a beautiful time, snuggling in the warm blankets if you're down this end of the planet, and enjoying the sunshine if you're on the top end of the planet :)

June is always a funny month for me, I always feel like the sun becomes an acquaintance when it's usually much more.. " Hey sun, I know we haven't seen each other in a while, I'm always inside at the moment with uni, and it seems like no sooner you're up, you're down, or you're hanging out behind the clouds"

We've been very lucky this year, the summer seemed to hold on for dear life all through the autumn.. So when I went down south this past weekend down to Margaret River it looked spectacular, all the reds and oranges on the trees, and the golden yellow leaves on the vines.

To give you a bit of background, " down south" as we Perth people call it is the southwest tip of Western Australia, which stretches from a little seaside town called Busselton, Down to Dunsborough and Eagle Bay (a bit more classy, think big holiday houses and designer threads) and then heading slightly inland towards Margaret River, a treasure trove dotted with wineries, with the most delicious food: a nuts and cereal factory which makes the most amazing muesli I have EVER tasted, a cheese factory which makes a delicious sweet chilli cheddar, a fudge factory where I always pick up a sweet jam-like raspberry licorice and Bailey's Irish cream fudge, a yoghurt factory, and Dukkah uncomparable to anything you can get back in Perth. Margaret River is one of those places that every time you go there,no metter how many times you've been, you always seem to discover a new place, a new winery, a hidden food factory down a back road, you never stop discovering. The coast then continues all the way down to Augusta, a very still and peaceful town nestled between the forest and the Southern Ocean.. when you really want to get away, Augusta is the place to do it. There are really pretty caves down that way too.

Anyway, I realllly have to get back to studying, so I'll post again soon

Saturday Night Stay Ins

Saturday night, most people my age are probably out having an awesome time somewhere having fun.. I'm in at uni. Awesome. Lily is taking the term geek to the next level! Anyway, I thought I may as well do something fun and post these outfits for you guys! I really want to get a close up for you of the necklace in the first shot, it's such an old looking thing, which would you believe I bought from Sportsgirl :D

What an unmiserable day !

The uni library - my current home at the moment - to answer your q Kim, I go to Curtin, it's grown a heap in the last 5 years, so probably looks very different than from what you might remember it as - I'll post more pretty photos of the gorgeous autumn trees for you soon.



Hey there darling readers, hope you're all feeling great, wherever you are in the world :D

So It rained pretty much all day today. Why is it that on days like today people always say things like " what a miserable day" ?

Maybe I'm completely strange ( okay, you guys already know this about me), but I love weather like this, perfect- snuggling-under-the-warm-blankets weather. Hot chocolate, slow cooked meals, laying on the couches with a doona watching complete dvd sets of tv series kind of weather. I used to loathe winter with a passion, but I'm discovering that there are a lot of things that I enjoy about winter that you can't have in summer in the same way.. hot cups of milky tea aren't the same when it's 40 degree days, nor are tights and berets and layering doesn't quite work the same..maybe we can be friends after all : D



Realised I would be freezing today, but I still haven't drycleaned my cream wool trench coat, so I had to walk round uni looking slightly homeless today (shame!) I'm hoping that because I've been there so much lately that I just sort of blended in, just became invisible, part of the scenery! The second photo is one I haven't posted from a few days ago, the first photo is what I actually wore today :)

anyway, my eyes are barely able to stay open at the moment, so I'm off to schleep, talk to you all again soon!

End of semester hibernation period

Hey darling people, hope you're all going well and not at all snowed under with work, wherever you are in the world ( Sorry Marta, I know you're in the same boat as me on that one - all the best honey!)

So it's getting to be that time of semester where all the students go into uber-study hibernation in order to catch up on all the studying that they really should have been doing a while ago. Cue - the University izone.. I don't know what it is about his place, the controlled temperature, the 7pm lighting settings, the awesomely techy computers they have here, or the super comfy lounges you can sit on with your laptop, but this place is study heaven for me. The first time I came here, I worked for 4 hours straight without even realising. For me - that was groundbreaking stuff. And true to it's name, every time I come here, I get in the zone.. last year I spent so much time here that I made a friend who actually believed that I didn't exist outside the library. Not even kidding... it was truly one of the most embarassing moments of my life when I bumped into him outside and called out - "hey --- look - I'm outside, I'm in the sunlight! " and everyone around us just stared at me like I was some strange agoraphobe. Please world - swallow me now.



See - who could resist bringing their lappies in to work on when there's this much comfyness to be had!
