While I was gone - May update

Gosh it's been too long - I hope you've all been well !

This May I...

...drank more cups of delicious Rose and Vanilla tea than I should admit ( think turkish delight in a cup, a dream! )

.. missed out on over 50 hours of sleep

.. In the two weeks leading up to my research proposal submission, spent more time IN my pretty new pink owl pyjamas than in I did out of them

.. cried when I found out my Nanna might not be around for October

.. cried again when my supervisor handed me back my draft filled with over 100 ( not even kidding) adjustments to make

..felt winded after she handed me back my final draft with another 50 suggested changes

.. laughed til I had tears in my eyes when Sam and I went for a drive down the most beautiful road in Perth (Kalamunda zig zag road) , stopped to take in the beautiful view, and her car wouldn't start back up.

.. Watched the entire LOTR trilogy while doing one of the late nighters

.. rediscovered Scrubs Season 1 late one night with Sam " knife wrench - for kids"
.. Watched all of Arrested Development and Inbetweeners

.. ate possibly more than 3 kilos of bread ( not hard to do when a loaf is 800 gms.)

.. Wowwed at the face that our AVERAGE Autumn temperature this year was 27.5 degrees celsius

.. Went to Freo with Sam and walked to an awesome lookout I'm sure less than a quarter of people from Perth know about :)

.. Found a new florist for the wedding, and my dream bouquet - Angel Flowers - I can have my peonies and freesias!

.. Bought more stuff on the Bath and Body works website than I'll probably be able to take home this trip to Seattle .. hmm..

.. Found a celebrant and started writing my vows

..Rode 20kms on Bluebell!!

.. Confirmed the cupcake details for the wedding " cake" with Little Miss Cupcake <3

.. Discovered that "Old Bluey" a bobtail lizard from my childhood must have met a " Lady Bluey" because there's now a baby bobtail living in my mum's garden!

.. Drunk 3 bottles of Gossips Sweet Lips Muscato!

.. Played balderdash with friends up in Roleystone, huddled near the fireplace and drinking the most divine T2 tea - white xmas - as my gorgeous best guy friend gleefully exclaimed "It's like Christmas in my mouth!!!" <3 him!

.. Dressed up as Alice in Wonderland for a friend's Disney party and felt like some kind of VS girl minus the wings.

.. Even funnier the next day, modelled complete with sash for a friend

.. Drove down to see family in Rockingham and enjoyed spending time just being together while watching Up. Related - Discovered places like Paradise Falls actually exist!!

.. discovered Starburst lollies limited edition - Smoothies!! and Nescafe Irish Cream coffee - like baileys minus the hangover - win !

.. speaking of Hangover, watched it - No more "do u live under a rock? " comments :P

.. Learnt that if I was to sit my TEE again tomorrow, I'd probably fail, going by the STAT test example paper.

.. Read over 400 journal articles about cyber bullying. FML.

Found another wedding song - yay!!

Up to my neck in research proposal, so short post , but I couldn't wait to share it with you guys ! Cannot get enough of this song right now ! True story, I actually thought this song was about a gay guy crushing on a straight guy, who's going out and making out with girls while he's left lonely.. Anyway, sweet lyrics and like the Adele song, I think it sums up the exact way we've all felt about someone at some time in our lives.



Also, somehow watching this makes me not feel as terrible about the fact i look like a giraffe meets flamingo when it comes to dancing !

Happiness is.. an unexpected win!..

Hey readers! Sorry I didn't reply earlier I've been busy having too much fun to slow down! and Gosh, I've got so much to tell you!!

Friday was such an awesome day - Spent the day with bestie Sam (www.thatswhatsam-said.blogpsot.com) getting stuff for mummy's day and all round just yayying at all the cool stuff we found at the shops..found a navy blue trench I'm totally in love with at Forever New (OF course it's from FN!) AND discovered they have not only my white patterned tights which I wore to death last winter ( when does a shop ever restock an item the next year? - MAJOR kudos ) but now they have all these other cute patterns too, pretty bows and flowers..

In the afternoon Sam and I went exploring and discovered the bush nearby is actually huge! and there are trees which look perfect for climbing, and secret tunnels! As a kid I was always up a tree reading, did any of you guys climb trees as kids? Cheers to my little sis for the lend of grey cardi :)

Ooh ooh and - I found earmuffs!! Honestly, I have been trying to track down earmuffs since I was in the cloudy heavens of Genting ( Highlands near Kuala Lumpur) last year and missed out on getting a super cute pair of strawberry ones.. Thank you Equip, my year long search is over :D

One thing I should say about Perth - and I'm sure Toots from http://tootsjoy.blogspot.com and Kim from http://fashionnibble.blogspot.com/ - Perth loves the fact that it's a place with such great weather so much so that when we do have crap weather, Perth people live in denial and dress like it's still summer, and we all just freeze our little butts off! Try getting a Perth girl out of short shorts - we'll just throw on a big hoodie and keep our shorts on .. so finding earmuffs, even though Perth is quite windy - is a huge win =D

meeting with my supervisor went awesome ! Always dread my meetings because I'm reallllly not so good on the attention being on me stuff.. I'll let you know how this works out for me going down the aisle - hilarious!

Anyway, we did the normal meeting stuff..and THEN I asked her when she wanted my lit review final copy in.. and she just shrugs and says in a sentence that seemed in my mind to go forever.. " well, as your supervisor, as far as I'm concerned, you've met the only unit outline requirement which mentions the lit review and that's handing in a draft.. So I don't see any reason why you shouldn't just get it to me.. January sometime?"

Cue the fireworks, cos this lit review, was kicking my ass. big time.

And more fireworks, was going through my stuff and found my old Enid Blyton books! Did you guys read Enid Blyton as a kid?? What was your favourite book? what do you remember? I'll always remember the faraway tree, a magic tree which would have a new land at the top every time, and the magic wishing chair! I loved her books so much as a littley, mum would always find me hidden away somewhere, in a tree or under a cubby made of sheets, off in my own little world.. Very excited about rediscovering them = )

Sunday nights are made for yummy dinners and great docos

Hey awesome readers, hope you've all had a wonderful weekend and all made the most out of the spectacular sunny days if you're in Perth right now.. I especially enjoyed mine because now I can seeeee! cheers for that Alex Perry ;) champion !



I was saying just a few posts ago to one of my adorablllleee followers Kim - it's so strange how Perth seems to know it's a weekend, and brings out the sunshine especially. My mum would delight in these "perfect washing days".. so any wonder what I did today?

sad to think some of these bright clothes will soon be neatly folded away until next spring..


Went on an adventure/road trip last night with our best neighbours ever to Spud Shed... or rather spudshed as it says on the sign ( fiancée delights in calling it spudshed, like spudged). Yep, this is what my saturday night excitement has now turned into.. someone pass me my knitting needles and my crossword puzzle please :D

To anyone else anywhere else in the world, this wouldn't be so exciting, but Spudshed is the only store I know of in Perth ( barring Mt. Lawley Chemist) which is open 24 hours a day. These places just don't exist in Perth..actually while you're grabbing my crossword, mind getting one for Perth too.. oh never mind, she's sleeping :D no, I really do love the littleness of Perth. ;)

After having a delicious spud shed salad and tuscan chicken dinner, fiancee and I attempted to unwind with a bbc doco.. All I can say is .. oh.. my .. god..




I will never complain about how hard it is to decide what to have for dinner again..


Or about how long it takes to by public transport to get to Uni..




And I will NEVER ever complain about the waves washing away the walls of my sandcastles..

Happy Easter Everyone!!

Hope you've all been having a fantastic day, and aren't feeling too sick from the copious amounts of chocolate you munched down, unlike me..oops!

the traditional Easter egg had to be postponed til after lunch today, who would have thought that our first WET day would be on Easter Sunday? Oh well, just as is the way in Perth, we had about 10 minutes of rain before beautiful sunshine started bursting through the clouds once again :)
Such a fantastic day, all over the place spending time with close friends and relatives. One of my close friends who I did photos for a while back gave me a copy of a few of them, yay! Here's just a glimpse






Anyway, I'll post what I wore tomorrow, when I feel like getting out of my new pj's and the lighting's a bit better!
